The team at Verfeuille
These are located in the National Park des Cévennes, whose landscapes have earned a UNESCO heritage designation. The chestnut tree is a noble tree, having fed entire populations, as well as farm animals and wildlife for centuries. It provided timber for housing, wood for furniture, fuel for the homes; its tannin was used for treating leather and beehives were carved into its waterproof trunk.
Verfeuille’s products are made with traditional chestnut species, carefully selected for their tasty features.

The majestic chestnut tree of the Cévennes
Verfeuille is a cooperative founded more than 25 years ago in the heart of the Cévennes, where the majestic chestnut tree is king, and present as early as the Roman times. Verfeuille transforms chestnuts under its own brand name, and that of more than 200 local growers for a total of 300 tons annually. Eager to perpetuate the savoir-faire and revive the activity around this regional resource, Verfeuille is committed at the agricultural level in order to help the chestnut producers maintain the groves with rigorous state-of-the-art methods.
Verfeuille offers an important range of chestnut products, one of which is the Chestnut butter imported by Pellicano, a BIO certified product that, year after year, wins the First Prize of the Gard Gourmand.
